Distinctive Cat

Distinctive Cat is now standing at

Weatherly Farms, New Mexico.

Storm Cat x Distinctive Sis, by Distinctive Pro

Distinctive Cat is the sire of many good, durable winners, including G2-placed Mysterious Cat; Coke's Melody, stakes placed in the Cal Cup; and the brothers Gatto Fortunato and recent Santa Anita winner Jimmy's Instinct.

For his low stud fee, you get 42% winners to starters and an earnings average ahead of Free House, Bartok, Iron Cat, Illinois Storm, Truckee, Turkoman, and many others.

His foals are attractive and correct, and have always sold very well. From his $150,000 Del Mar sales topping filly to his $77,000 Barretts sales topping colt, his yearling prices continue to impress.

He is one of only two sons of Storm Cat in the top 25 on the California Juvenile Sire List, and the least expensive to breed to.

Distinctive Cat's sire, STORM CAT is arguably the best sire in the nation, perhaps in the world. His sons at stud include FORESTRY (stud fee $50,000), HENNESSY (stud fee $45,000), EXPLOIT (stud fee $30,000), HIGH YIELD (stud fee $35,000), STORM CREEK (stud fee $25,000), and Storm Boot (stud fee $15,000). Distinctive Cat’s dam, DISTINCTIVE SIS, was a graded stakes winner at two and a daughter of the MR. PROSPECTOR stallion DISTINCTIVE PRO. Distinctive Cat, while unraced himself, flashed brilliance on the track. He twice worked a half-mile out of the gate in a blazing 46 2/5, one of them a bullet, while preparing for his first start at Del Mar as a two year old in 1995. Racing’s loss is your gain! Distinctive Cat had his first season at stud in 1997, and had full books every year!

Distinctive Cat bears a strong resemblance to his famous sire. While STORM CAT stands in Kentucky for $500,000, you can tap into his power, speed, precocity and good looks for a mere fraction of his fee. And you can accomplish all this right here in California, and for only $1,500 live foal. A truly rare opportunity indeed!

His first foals are selling exceptionally well. Here are some examples: $20,000 -- weanling, $150,000, $50,000, $40,000 -- yearlings, and, $140,000, $80,000, $50,000 -- 2-year-olds.

2005 Stud fee: $1,500 live foal guaranteed, payable September 1, of year bred.

Nominated to the Breeder's Cup and California Sire Stakes
